Volunteer today

If you are considering a counselling qualification or looking for a placement where you can complete your certification we would be delighted to talk with you.

Volunteers are at the heart of our service. We currently have around 120 committed, qualified, volunteer counsellors and a few support workers who donate their time to working with young people and adults.

We are always on the lookout for passionate individuals who would like to work with us. In turn we offer professional management and expertise to support trainees and qualified volunteers. We provide child protection & data protection training, group supervision, free professional training and events and ongoing professional development support.

The benefits

We think all our volunteers deserve to be rewarded, which is why we focus on providing personal development, training and support, as well as access a close community of like-minded professionals.

We offer free group supervision, school placements (if desired), professional and experienced line management with daytime and evening on-call support, free DBS checks, free Child Protection & Data Protection training, free CPD events & advanced training, industry recruitment opportunities and the opportunity to meet and network with other volunteer counsellors embarking on a similar journey.

All Volunteers need to complete an application form and are invited to attend a recruitment interview and induction day where they are asked to complete group work and individual role play. This is also an opportunity to meet the counselling team and to ask questions. We try to make the process as comfortable as possible while ensuring that we are rigorous in our screening for the best interests of the people we support.

We are happy to receive applications at any time through the year and run recruitment days 2-3 times a year. Please get in touch for more information.
